In 2004, University Canada West was approved to open on two floors of an office building on Melville Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded by the former president of the University of Victoria (Greater Victoria), David. F. Strong, it initially only offered undergraduate degrees.
Nonetheless, more than fifteen years later, and now owned by Global University Systems, UCW offers three undergraduate degrees in different business areas, a graduate offer and many short courses. UCW is also known for its international studies program, which welcomes foreign students from more than 52 countries. University Canada West assures a “wonderful mix” of Canadian citizens, permanent residents and visiting students.
